Aoife Feeney Farm Sustainability Manager with Carbery Group
A Co. Longford native, Aoife Feeney is the is the Farm Sustainability Manager with Carbery Group in West Cork. Aoife holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science majoring in Animal Science and recently completed her master’s degree in Agricultural Extension and Innovation, both from University College Dublin (UCD).
Aoife has been working with Carbery since June 2018. Here she manages the Agricultural Sustainability Support and Advisory Programme (ASSAP), the Carbery Greenery Dairy Farms Programme and the farm sustainability strategy for Carbery which involves working closely with the four West Cork Co-op’s and farmer suppliers. She has extensive knowledge in the agri-food and dairy industry with particular focus on sustainable production and farm improvement and vast experience in dealing with and implementing policy changes at ground level.
Previous to her role with Carbery, Aoife worked as an Agricultural Advisor and Team Leader for the Farm Relief Services, on behalf of Teagasc covering Co. Cork. Her role focused on the delivery of department schemes to Teagasc clients. As part of her degree, her professional work experience (PWE) brought her to Germany where she worked on a large indoor based dairy farm. She also worked on dry stock farms as part of her PWE in Co. Longford.
Aoife is passionate about animal welfare, grass-based production and enabling farmers to implement practices that improve the environment whilst reducing input costs.Back to Listing
