Helena Silke graduated from Waterford Institute of Technology with an Honours degree in Agricultural Science in 2021. Following graduation, she joined J. Grennans & Sons, where she spent two years gaining experience across several areas of the business, including quality control, logistics, and customer service.
In 2023, Helena joined smaXtec Ireland as a Customer Success Specialist, working directly with dairy farmers across the country. Her role involved the installation and adoption of herd health monitoring technology, alongside providing on-farm training and ongoing support to farmers.
Helena joined FRS Farm Services in 2024 as a Training Coordinator, where she was involved in the development and delivery of an introductory agricultural training programme for new entrants to the sector. She has since progressed into a more customer-facing role within FRS Farm Services, working closely with farmers to identify their labour and farm service requirements and coordinating the delivery of services across her region.
Alongside her professional career, Helena is actively involved in farming on the family farm in Co. Offaly, where they operate a spring-calving dairy herd alongside a suckler enterprise.
Through both her professional roles and involvement on the home farm, Helena has developed a particular interest in grass-based livestock production, dairy technology, knowledge transfer and the practical adoption of new technologies and practices at farm level.
